ÉCU is dedicated to scouring the globe for the best indie films because we believe that the exceptional perspective that independent cinema offers its audiences deserves to be encouraged. Our partner festivals share the same ideals, and the Victoria Film Festival is no exception. At the foot of the beautiful Fagaras Mountains in Romania, ÉCU’s partner Victoria Film Festival offers a three-day cinematic event in a region where culture is endangered. In an attempt to revitalize Victoria, the city will be transformed into a free-spirited environment for screenings of short and documentary films, workshops, live concerts, and Q&A sessions with local actors and producers. Victoria Film Festival showcases works from all corners of the world, 2014 marking the 2nd annual edition of this multinational celebration of art.
The main means of transport will be bicycle for this special open-air experience, inviting locals to leave behind the dust of the industrial cities and enjoy dynamic independent cinema in an attractive natural paradise. The festival will take place June 26-29 and will feature four films from ÉCU 2014 Official Selection: “216 Months”, “Damn Girl”, “Sweet Rabbit”, and “Cruise Patrol”. This block of short European films will be screened at the House of Culture on Sunday, June 29 and ensure that the festival is an event not to be missed.
