Simon Evans, “Not not knocking on heaven’s door”- Palais de Tokyo, Until 16th May

000-simon-evansAn exhibition of the duo self-taught artist Simon Evans, a professional skateboarder born in London, who works with Sarah Lanna (an American illustrator). Curated by Rebecca Lamarche – Vadel, the exhibition shows thirty artistic pieces in order to represent the labyrinthine pathways coming from the artist’s mind in which visitors are invited to pass trough.

thumb_largeA free entrance exhibition curated by Karolina Lewandowska that includes photographs and films to revisit the best years, the 80s with sixty art works made by over twenty different artists like Karen Knorr, Jean-Paul Goude, Unglee, Présence Panchounette, Pierre and Gilles, Martin Parr and Helen Carrey. One of the most important decades for the rise of photography as an art form in France, the 80s want to reduce the gap between painting and video-photography.



Opening Night of “Une Vie Toute Neuve” – Cinema Les 7 Parnassiens, February 3rd at 8pm

11bbfe_d786f2585ed1447c9ab4e0b44ee181e1Une Vie Toute Neuve is a first film success story about childhood, brilliantly confronting the delicacy of adoption in South Korea during the 70’s.  The film was directed by Ounie Lecomte which earned her official selection at Cannes in 2009. This was an unprecedented co-production between France and South Korea. The great Korean director Lee Chang-dong co-produced the film with his brother while contributing to his writing. The promising Korean cinematographer Kim Hyunseok will thus present alongside Ounie Lecomte to return to this cinematic odyssey uncommon during this evening that will make the bridge between our two countries.


AUTOR DU PIANO – Musée Jacquemart-André, Until 13th March

Salon de l’agriculture – last week of February

LOGO Carre SIAThis is a show that starts during the last week of February each year. It is an ideal occasion to discover the “terroir” food, for which France is well-known for all over the world. Moreover, farmers are used to bringing their animals (pigs, chicken…) to the show. Undoubtedly, the cows are the stars! Children love cuddling the animals and they usually have fun with the activities proposed.



Carnaval de Paris 2016 – Place Gambetta, Sunday 7th February 

carnaval-de-paris-costumesAlso this year will be the Carnaval de Paris starting from 1 pm at Place Gambetta until 8 pm at Place de la République. Carnival de Paris is not very famous like the Brazilian carnival, but anyway could be a great occasion to see fun costumes through the streets of Paris. This year’s theme is the aquatic fantasy world.


Chinese New Year – 8th February 

chinese-new-year-monkey-20162016 is L’Année de la Singe (Year of the Monkey). Celebrations for Chinese New Year begin on February 8. There’s a lively parade and celebrations throughout the 13th Arrondissement between Place d’Italie and the Porte de Choisy, with Buddhist shrines and plenty of good Asian eats.
