This workshop will address the basic rules of dramatic writing. Discussion topics will include the origin of fiction, the three acts in writing, relations between the protagonist, objective and obstacle, dramatic irony, and promise and payment.

George Ruquet, writer and director for film companies, TV magazines, talk-shows, documentaries, short films and reality-shows alike, will then lead an analysis of an illustration from a known film and guide a question and answer session following.

Biography of Georges Ruquet

Georges Ruquet has written and directed for film companies, TV magazines, talk-shows, documentaries, short films and reality-shows.

At the end of the Nineties, he improved in dramatic construction at Krzysztof Zanussi in a Media Desk training course and then with Yves Lavandier (“La dramaturgie (Writing Drama)”, “Le Clown et l’Enfant” editor) at the first “Grand Workshop Scenario” of the higher National School of Image and Sound (FEMIS). In order to perfect this experience, he initiated 2 workshops for long feature writing scenarios (2 and 5 participants).

Starting in 2000 he mostly concentrates on writing features for the cinema. Member associated with the SACD (Company of the Authors and Dramatic Composer), indexed at the agency Initiative Film (dialogist, consulting scenario writer), he intervenes as a consultant, in particular for the CNC (National Center for Cinema) and ensures formations at I.N.A (National Institute of Audio-visual, Bry-sur –Marne, near Paris) and the I.M.C.A Provence (Institute of the Trades of the Audio-visual Communication, Avignon).
