Despite these winter winds, things are heating up at the ÉCU office this month as we get ready for next year’s festival season. But we’re not the only ones anticipating the festival next spring. One of the greatest joys of being a part of the ÉCU team is receiving indie flicks from filmmakers worldwide. These independent artists never cease to inspire and amaze us with their stories of creative ambition. Fortunately, there is still time to submit your films by the next deadline this Sunday, December 15th. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the ÉCU experience by sharing your stories with us! For more information on submissions and deadlines, visit our page here
Speaking of awe-inspiring indie stories, catch up on our latest Spotlights where we featured various creative minds. From filmmakers new and old,
we’ve shared the stories of revolutionary screenwriters like Billy Wilder to attention worthy directors including ‘The King of Cool’ Steve Mcqueen.
Last month, ÉCU-on-the-Road brought some of our favorite independent films from ÉCU 2013 to Barcelona for a three day screening. We are pleased to report that the event was a great success and we would like to thank all those who came out and showed their support and appreciation for these independent filmmakers. Catch up with us next time when ÉCU-on-the-Road travels to Egypt for the Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival in January!
But don’t worry, there is much to do before we hit up the pyramids. If you’re looking for a fun time out in Paris this month, be sureto read all about the different cultural and artsy events that we’ve recommended here. If the icy weather is keeping you indoors this months, then grab a blanket, a hot beverage and catch up on some new indie films on EuroIFC that you can watch for free.
Lastly, we would like to wish you all a happy holiday season! Another year has gone by and we are very appreciative of all those who have helped us keep the indie spirit alive. 2014, here we come!
