This year ÉCU screened some of its films in Athens, Greece, on February 17th-19th. An incredible location in which we showcased some of the films that participated to previous editions of The European Independent Film Festival.
43 different films were screened during the event, from 17 different nationalities and among them 8 films were greek! Click here to read the full program.
The films have been showcased at Six d.o.g.s (you can visit the webiste here) which is one of the hippiest place in Athens and the perfect environment to screen independent films, composed of a bar, a café, a gallery, a venue and a garden. ÉCU had two screens at its disposal!
The visibility of those films was huge; in fact, Six d.o.g.s. is one of the most famous space in Athens dedicated to cultural and musical events. The audience was invited to the event through a specific promotion on a large scale: the event had a lot of sponsors including the biggest cinematic magazine of Greece, cinemas, film schools ans so on.
During the event some interesting workshops took place. The special guest speaker for the occasion was Socrates Alafouzos, important Greek actor and director.
