This month all the efforts of the ÉCU team are conveyed to the organization of the festival that is getting closer and closer and to the promotion of the films of our Official Selection. The 9th edition of The European Independent Film Festival
Tickets to participate to the festival are now on sale and on our Festival Genius page you can find out more about the films, the schedule of the weekend of the festival and buy the passes that most suits your needs and tastes. You will have the chance to participate to screenings, workshops, Q&A sessions and much more…is just around the corner and we all are very excited and impatient to showcase to you all the great indie films that are in competition this year.
On the 11th of March we had an amazing Launch Party at the Gibus Club: we had loads of fun listening to the great bands that played during the night and the public had a preview of the films of our Official Selection. If you couldn’t come to the party visit our Facebook page and website to find out what happened.
This month ÉCU was glad to announce the finalists of our Much More Than A Script Competition: the Feature Film Scripts are “Yellow Dragon and the Red Fox” by Anthony Etherington (UK), “She Moved Through the Fair” by Caroline Cooke (UK) and “Acqua” by Lorenzo Colonna (Italy). As Short Film scripts we selected: “Il Falsario d’Anime” by Gab Galliani (Italy), “Lostalgia” by Gary King (South Africa) and “Before the Bomb” by Tannaz Hazemi (Sweden).
The spotlights we wrote on March were about various different personalities: an American classic actor and creator of the Sundance Film Festival: Robert Redford; one of the most discussed films in this period and winner for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars: The Great Beauty by Paolo Sorrentino; a look back in film industry with an article about a woman which still is a great inspiration for a lot of actresses: Bette Davis.
This month ÉCU-on-the-Road stopped in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and showcased indie films that were part of our Official Selections during the past editions9 years. These 6 days of screenings and workshops were great and got cinema hungry Brazilians excited, so hopefully we will be back in sunny and welcoming Brazil soon.
We continue to work hard at the office and we are really looking forward to seeing you all indie films addicted people at Cinema Les 7 Parnassiens between April 4th and 6th!
