Jonah

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short category.

Jonah, which was inspired by the current migrant crisis facing Europe, wants to make the audience aware of the tragedy of war and the one of the loss of roots when fleeing one’s own country. A tragedy of this proportion must not encounter national or ethnic barriers.

One Last Dance

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short category.

It tells the story of three generations of men , of lost love and the intimacy of a dance. A reluctant visit to his grandson’s dance group gives an old man an unexpected chance to reconnect with his past and reignite his passion for life.

Hans’ Colours

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017.

Colourful, chaotic, marvellously wrong: the young Brazilian director Pedro Dannemann met our protagonist at the national theatre in Freiburg, Germany by chance during his internship. The unexpected encounter developed into an unusual friendship and a deep trusting relationship between two men.

Rabbit Blood

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the Student Film Category. The film is a story about an ordinary day at an old mysterious Turkish country house where its residents have an extraordinary way of brewing tea.

Sing for Me

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the Arab Special Selection Category. Sing for Me is a short poetic documentary that follows a personal journey that departs from loss and follows a river to meet Baghdad. The film travels through shared family memories, a collage of stories and archival footage that provide a glimpse of Iraq’s modern history and its defeated dreams as a modern and just society.

One More Cigarette

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. One More Cigarette explores the portrait of a young generation affected by the recent economical crisis, shown through the eyes of a twenty four year old girl. She retraces the main steps of her life from her birth to the passage to adult life, facing the contradictions of society. She sets the goal of her existence to improve the world, but she soon discovers that to be faithful to her purpose she has to take drastic measures.

The Dog and The Elephant

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. Set in the violent world of Victorian boxing and the honour code of the Romani Gypsies, ‘The Dog & The Elephant’ is a compelling story of the unlikely kinship between a young boxer and an elephant.

WHACK

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. The Greek film is set in the near future in the decadent metropolis of Athens where suicide is illegal but the citizens have no stronger desire than to die.

The Crossing 

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. Battling infertility and failing to cope with the breakup of his relationship, Terry is plagued by recurring nightmares and a profound uncertainty about his future. When a chance encounter with his ex reveals he’s been permanently left behind, Terry is forced to confront his anxieties head on.

Oracle

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the Student Film Category. The film examines the relationship between belief and life. The world has changed a lot, but human indifference has never changed and at times it can appear that animals are more reliable than people. The main character explores this notion as well as the need, or lack thereof, for belief. Oracle aims to reflect the indifference of our inner world while inspiring audiences to contemplate and re-examine their own lives.

I Close My Eyes

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. The film depicts the deterioration of a girl’s life when she discovers that she has a serious illness. From this moment, time starts to move markedly faster, emphasizing a sense of transience to human life. Standing all alone against her problems, she tries to hide herself from real life, finding relief in a virtual life where she shares her thoughts and feelings with random people, people who are actually as lonely as she is. Everything that is going on is a metaphor, and every event is an allegory for what has happened in reality.

Bon Voyage

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. The film explores a couple‘s compassion as it is put to the test when they come across a sinking ship of refugees while on a relaxing trip across the Mediterranean.

Three Rooms

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Experimental Film Category, Three Rooms narrates the story of AVE from the moment he manages to recover the empty body of VOID, who has remained kidnapped in the cylcycal Circle Kingdom. By crossing through three rooms AVE will pour sounds and ink into the VOID giving it back the essential content which will transforms it (the VOID) into ADAM and AVE into EVE, a mutation generating the force to break the circle which allow both lovers to fly into the endless spiral.

Black Mountain

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the Student Category, Zaar is a suicide bomber who enters a random diner to bomb himself in a terrorist attack but listening and interacting with the innocent people around him makes him question his intent. Will he be able to do it!?

Eviction

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Dramatic Short Category. The Coco Banana Company GbR, is a german film production company based in Hamburg and Berlin, focusing on the development, design, marketing and production of TV-shows and feature film formats. Founded in 2012 TCB-Company now debuts in the field of short film production, with the 30 minute short film ‘Eviction’.

In Exile

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the European Animation Category. A story about displacement, migration, family values and children left behind. A boy who lives with his grandmother in the village. His parents are both away in search of a better life, so the boy is pretty much left to his own devices. He toils away at a mysterious project – a powerful ‘flying machine’ that would take him to his parents. This project keeps him going, keeps him motivated and consumes most of his energy, until a new found friend comes onto the scene.

America Wild

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the documentary category. It is a beautiful documentary which follows the journey of a team of modern day explorers into Americas great outdoors.

Being Her Friend

This trailer was submitted to ÉCU 2017 under the short film category. It is a dramatic film about two wounded souls who form an unlikely friendship in the ward of a 72-hour suicide watch. A bittersweet story about friendship and loss.
