At ÉCU 2011 we will be screening 77 films from 26 countries competing for 20 awards, with 8 World Premieres and 5 European Premieres. Sixty filmmakers are making their way to Paris to be on hand for their screenings and to participate in the meet-the-director sessions where they can interact with their films audience. I’m guessing they will also be seeing as many films as possible, talk to as many other indie filmmakers as they can – and they might even dance, drink and make merry at the afterparties :)
All of the practical info regarding how to get to the cinemas, screening times and generally how to have a great festival is up on our website www.ecufilmfestival.com. We have introduced 2 things this year which will greatly enhance your ÉCU festival experience and I strongly recommend taking advantage of them. The first is the ‘Festival Genius’ module on our website (also available as an iPhone app). There you can look at trailers of the competing films, and once you login (it’s free) you can build your own calendar of event which will sync with your iCal etc. You will be able to rate the films after you’ve seen them. You can also use this as a way to establish the filmmakers you’d like to meet at the festival. You can do this by becoming part of ÉCU 2011 Social Network site where you can directly interact with the other Filmmakers about the things that are going on around the festival. You’ll even be able to talk to members of the ÉCU staff and ÉCU judges.
Our Platinum Sponsor G-Tech will be on hand in the ÉCU Production Hub to show you their latest and greatest products – products that I use in my editing workflows and Final Draft will be doing hands-on demos throughout the weekend.
The ÉCU 2011 team is amazing and is going to help put on a great festival. They will impress you – and I thank them deeply. I’m excited about the weekend – and I hope you are too.
See you soon!
