Dramatic Feature: Open to all Non-European feature films made with less than 50% participation by a major studio or television broadcaster. The film can be in any language, but subtitles in either English or French are highly recommended to ensure the best judging.

Dramatic Short: Open to all Non-European short films made with less than 50% participation by a major studio or television broadcaster. The film can be in any language, but subtitles in either English or French are highly recommended to ensure the best judging. NOTE: Running time cannot exceed 30 minutes.

Documentary: Open to all Non-European documentaries of any length made with less than 50% participation by a major studio or television broadcaster. The film can be in any language, but subtitles in either English or French are highly recommended to ensure the best judging.

Submit a film

IMPORTANT: If your film is chosen to be screened at ÉCU we will need the following in order to compile the festival‘s catalogue:

  • A 1-sentence synopsis (no more than 180 characters) in English and preferably in French
  • A screenshot or publicity shot of your film
  • The audiences and judges for your films will be very international and to enhance their viewing / judging experiences ALL films that are nominated as part of The Official Selection need to be subtitled.
    • If your film is in English, it will need French subtitles.
    • If your film is in French, it will need English subtitles.
    • If your film is in a language other than English or French, it will need English subtitles.
