What a great place to live ! For Parisians August is described as the best month to be in the capital. Emptied off by a big part of its population, its traffic jams and its greyness, lets time to relax and enjoy the numerous activities. A lot of events are outside, and it is time of many temporary exhibitions, festivals and, of course cinema. Here are 10 great reasons to be in Paris in August !
Cinema in the Moonlight 2015. For the 15th time, Cinéma au clair de lune comes back in Paris. It started the 24th of July but if you haven’t already been there, you have time until the 9th of August 2015 to sit down in the fresh grass to attend to the open-air cinema ! Exhibition Gaumont. Gaumont celebrates its 120 years with a retrospective exhibition. We can observe how the company accompanies the evolution of the movies since its creation. Cinema Festival at Wanderlust. As you see Paris loves cinema, and this summer the city swarms with all the open cinema areas. This festival is with the whole theme of the music. Paris Quartier d’Eté. Existing since 1990, these events are a different programms of a cross paths of culture and people, where young artists meet established artists. We play in the street, in the garden, in museums or in factories. For every taste then. Click here to know more.
Rock en Seine 2015. In the top 10 of the biggest festival in France, tree-day event of rock, pop and electro music are held at the Domaine National of Saint-Cloud, West of Paris. The program brings together the biggest names of national and international scenes with around 100 000 festival participants. Who is going to be there this year ? Les Pestacles at the Floral Park. During all the summer until the 23th of September, the little Parisians can enjoy music, circus, dance and slam of high quality. In the middle of one of the most important parks in the capital young visitors can be spectators but also actors. Check here.
Other cool things
The Summer Canal Festival. Everyone has already known the Paris plage along the Seine but this one is another event. Seven sites along the canal de l’Ourcq (leading northeastwards out of the city) have all sorts of events going on, and there are boats every 30 minutes to take you there.
