What To Do In Paris in October

Ah, yes… the leaves are changing, the morning air is crisp and fresh, and the sun is so ridiculously bright at times you may fear blindness! Plus, with the summer ease disappearing and the year’s school schedules and work routines just starting setting in, everyone is in need of something to look forward to, right?! Well, here are a few things to mark in your calendar for when life get a bit rough!

Event: Paris Fashion Week

Details: Hey all you fashionistas out there! As many you are all well aware, Fashion Week is wrapping up in a couple of days. So if you haven’t seen the latest and greatest of fashion trends for this year or you just want to try and get a sneak peak of Karl Lagerfield, nows your chance!

When: September 25th through October 3rd, 2012 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Event: “Fantastic Opera” by Jacques Offenbach

Details: For those wanting to take in a bit of culture, Offenbach’s last masterpiece titled, The Tales of Hoffman and subtitled, “Fantastic Opera” just might be your thing. He composed a hundred or so operettas, however, this one in particular was an attempt to reconnect with German romanticism through his strange character, Hoffman. The tales, filled with nightmares and dream-like fantasies, will be sure to impress.

When: September 7th through October 3rd, 2012 from 7:30pm to 11:10pm.

Event: Nuit Blanche (White Night)

Details: Nuit Blanche is a nocturnal festival lasting all through the wee hours of the night to celebrate culture of all kinds! The event takes place through the entire Paris region at museums, libraries, monuments, galleries, etc. So join in, be creative, and discover Parisian culture by night! There will be installations and exhibitions from French and other artists from around the world. Plus, if you can last the entire night, there will be breakfast waiting for you at the Hotel de Ville!

When: October 6th, 2012 from 7:00pm to 7:00am October 7th, 2012.

Event: Fête des Vendanges (Montmartre Wine Harvest Festival)

Details: Do you consider yourself a wine aficionado? Well, then you should know that Montmartre has the last working vineyard in Paris. The annual crop produces about 500 bottles of Clos Montmartre and the festival celebrates its harvest. Expect four days of celebrations, exhibitions, parades, concerts, and of course, tons of artisanal products and delicacies to enjoy!

Event: Ile-de-France Festival

Details: Music lovers will be sure to enjoy this festival with a full programmed filled with every type of music imaginable. Event: La Semaine du Goût (Taste Week)

Details: Who doesn’t love something heavenly smelling and delicious to eat?! This gastronomy festival will be sure to invigorate your taste buds with all things flavorful and scrumptious. The event, which has been going on for the past 16 years, is dedicated to nutrition and healthy eating. Workshops and other educational events will be held throughout the festival duration to keep you healthy and informed.

Event: Terrorific Nights

Details: In the days leading up to Halloween, Disneyland Paris will celebrate with some terrorific events! Vampires and ghosts will take over the park leaving no corner undisturbed and filled with paranormal activities that will be sure to give you goose bumps and nightmares!

When: October 27th through October 28th, 2012 from 8:30pm to 1:00am

Event: Halloween
