“Media 4D” Conference

ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival has partnered with social innovators Holken Consultants & Partners to create a conference encouraging e-Accessibility tools in films and TV programs called Media 4D. This conference will be taking place March 30th in conjunction with ÉCU 2012 festival. The European players involved in the whole value chain will discuss visual content and technological innovation, while focusing on “e-Accessibility” and “e-Inclusion.” These discussions will create awareness for new e-Accessibility tools and user experiences that consider user disabilities, such as blindness and hearing problems, and their needs within the content production process. We are convinced that accessibility, when included in the content production process, will create added value for everybody. Thus we believe that by using some of these recent techniques you will have the opportunity to increase your film’s audience.

Filmmakers can:

Encourage the integration of dedicated e-Accessibility tools in films and TV programs.
Fulfil the needs of the disabled and ageing communities by including services designed for their impairments.
Make a difference – TV networks do not offer many programmes with audio description, Sign Language, clean audio, etc.
Find new ways of financing for their films.
