ÉCU at MashRome Film Festival, Rome ITALY
ÉCU’s partner festival MashRome Film Festival is the first film festival in Italy to showcase mash up, remix and experimental cinema. Their main focus is to contribute to the promotion of innovation and original works created through processes of renewal, growth and evolution of cinematographic language. Mixing and experimenting with arts and genres are the key concepts of the festival.
Their 4th edition of the festival is taking place between July 1st and 3rd on the wonderful Tiber Island – the only island in the Tiber River that runs through Rome.
Sharing ideas and art is the main purpose of MAshRome: to facilitate participation of different audiences, to strengthen the social inclusion of people, particularly those most disadvantaged and to foster intercultural dialogue in a multicultural environment.
MashRome Film Festival has included 4 films from ÉCU 2015 Official Selection to their competition: OUT OF REACH (RAIN NIGHT) (Belgium) by Pablo Diartinez, winner of Best Experimental Film at ÉCU 2015; ONE THOUSAND & ONE TEARDROPS (UK) by Fateme Ahmadi; SOLO FINALE (Germany) by Ingo Putze and BIGGER PICTURE (UK) by Daisy Jacobs.
This year’s festival is going to present eight categories, including web series, mashup, documentaries and remixes. Films competing are innovative and original in using different arts manipulation and new technologies. The festival will welcome professors of semiotics and communication, philosophers and social-anthropologists, as well as professionals from the cinema industry, and prestigious figures from the world of art and culture.
ÉCU is very happy to be partners with such an interesting and innovative festival and even more honoured to have several films from our festival to be included to MashRome’s Official Selection. We wish good luck to all films in competition and recommending all film lovers to attend this festival if you are in Rome between July 1st and 3rd.
