ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival is proud to share some of its best films from the 2017’s edition of the festival with our partner Arkadia Shortfest that will take place 1st – 3rd September in Băcoi, Prahova, Romania. The 4th edition the festival will once again offer 3 days of artistic events, that will take place in an authentic space and making easier for Prahova’s surroundings new generation the access to art and culture. ÉCU is delighted to share some of award-winning films with Arkadia Shortfest: the emotional Late Season, directed by Daniela Leitner (winner of Best European Independent Animation Award 2017), the comedic roller-coaster that is Standby, directed by Charlotte Regan (winner of Excellence in Women’s Filmmaking Award 2017), the sensual Rhythm of Being by Giada Ghiringhelli (winner of Best European Experimental Film 2017), a very touching and disturbing story that is My Last Summer, directed by Claude Demers, and the last but not the least, winner of Best European Independent Short Film 2017 – Emily Must Wait, directed by Christian Wittmoser.
We’re also very happy to see that the winner of Best European Independent Film 2017, Cubs (directed by Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir) will also be screened in Arkadia’s 4th edition.
It is very important for ÉCU to share the experience of watching good independent films not only with the Parisian audience, but also be able to share it with as many people around the world as possible.
