From Australia to Asia, this weekend we have been to Beirut, Lebanon, for NDU International Film Festival. At its 9th edition, NDU was celebrated at Notre Dame University – Louaize, between November 15 and November 22. In this last version the Festival decided to honor the Lebanese Legend Abdel Halim Caracalla for his lifetime achievements. As a great example of an artist who gained success after years of persistence and belief in the artistic gifts of his team, he well represents the independent type of filmmakers the Festival aims to promote and reward.
The Festival motto is “Power of Youth”, which is emblematic of the main purpose and mission of this organization. NDU honors artists, their work, their creativity and invites all young filmmakers to follow their steps, dare to get on the ladder towards success. The Festival has become a large gathering of Lebanese directors, producers, filmmakers, cinematographers, actors and actresses. Abdel Halim Caracalla is certainly a great example of Having represented a showcase for Lebanese and Arab Cinema for years, the event also hosted a wide number of international figures from Europe, USA, Russia, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Being part of movement “Film Festivals Cinergy”, NDU collaborates with a wide range of independent film festivals so support young filmmakers by trying to have their films seen by a larger audience as possible.
