September is already over and oh my, what a whirlwind it’s been! The new interns have arrived and have been hard at work, helping us to make ÉCU 2018 film festival the best edition yet. We are extremely proud to have an international team and currently have interns from countries as far and wide as Russia and China! It is important to us that our team is as diverse as possible as this means that we will be able to reach out to as many filmmakers as possible and achieve our goal of finding the best independent short films in the world. We have immensely enjoyed viewing your creative endeavours, and remember: there is still time to submit your films for ÉCU 2018. Please click here if you would like to do so.
Here at ÉCU HQ we are always keen to share our films with other leading independent film festivals: at the beginning of September some of our award winning films were screened at Arkadia Shortfest in Romania (September 1st-3rd) and then at Smalls Film festival in London (September 1st-5th). You can find out more about these festivals by clicking here. Also, at the end of September (September 23rd-30th) 15 of the best films from the 12th edition of ÉCU were screened at our partner festival Naperville Independent Film Festival, in Illinois. You can find out more about this amazing festival by clicking here.
We’re also currently gearing up for Super8000 Film Festival in Aarhus (the new European capital of culture) on October 28th 2017, where we will be sharing some of the world’s best European independent short films. The theme of the festival is: Let’s rethink and will be a forum for rethinking storytelling for the big screen. We’re very much looking forward to viewing some of Europe’s most innovative and thought-provoking films. We are unrelenting in our quest to find the next best independent filmmakers and showcase their talents to the filmmaking industry!
