Now that the Cannes Film Festival has come to the end of its 12 day run, we can say that 2011 was full of change and excitement! Lots of fun, but definitely lots of work and preparation as well! The Closing Ceremony dished out all the glamour that we have come to expect from the Cannes Film festival, and DeNiro was more than willing to play the part as this year’s Jury President, distributing the coveted trophies to the winning directors and stars of the evening.

Despite some of the drama unleashed in the press conferences this year, many of the films premiering this year were rather well received, including Woody Allen’s opening film Midnight in Paris and director Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life, which won the coveted Palme d’Or this year.

A full list of all of the films awarded this year can be found by clicking here. Additionally, if you would like to learn more or get a sneak peak at any of the films, a full list of trailers may be accessed here.

It’s not certain what another year of preparation and hype will bring for next year’s 2012 Cannes Film Festival – but one thing is for sure, and that’s that ÉCU will be there to partake in the excitement!
