For the 5th year in a row, ÉCU is proud to be the partner of Naperville Independent Film Festival and showcase its awarded films to the American audiences.
The sixth annual Naperville Independent Film Festival (NIFF) takes place between 13th-21st September and this year attracted 150 filmmakers and 15 screenwriters from all over the globe to enter their projects for a chance to compete for the coveted NIFF trophy. Year-to-year, the festival continues to draw a growing number of local and regional indie-film fans, and the organizers of the annual event are pleased to see the film festival as a well-established fixture on the busy Naperville events calendar.
During the 7 days of the festival, 49 films and 5 screenplays have been nominated to compete in 11 “best” categories, including documentary, director, feature film, short film, actor, actress, animation, student-produced, music video, mobile video (newest category 2013), and screenplay.
“For us, it has been a very fruitful collaboration especially because of the opportunity we give to the European filmmakers that participated in ÉCU to get their films showcased to the American public” said Scott Hillier, The European Independent Film Festival President about the long lasting partnership with Naperville Independent Film Festival.
ÉCU will be present in Naperville by screening 19 winning films of this year’s edition. The European films grouped in different sections will be showcased during the American festival each day starting with Sunday 15th of September until the end of the festival.
ÉCU stays true to the commitment of sustaining and promoting independent cinema all around the world and the collaboration with Naperville Independent Film Festival is an example of how films submitted to ÉCU get to be screened on the other side of the globe. So what are you waiting for indie filmmakers? Submit your films to our next edition and we’ll take care of the rest.
