JoeThis week’s spotlight highlights the director who brought everyone’s favorite Jane Austen novel to life in 2005. Joe Wright is a British film director known for the films ANNA KARENINA, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, and ATONEMENT.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Joe started out as an actor, he acted both professionally on stage and on camera. In his last year of college Joe won a scholarship to create a short film for BBC that won several awards. In the 1990s, he worked directing music videos and then moved on to create feature films. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen was his first feature film and it received 4 Academy nominations and 6 BAFTA nominations, winning the BAFTA for the most promising newcomer. He then went on to direct ATONEMENT, which was nominated for 7 Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Original Score. His other films are: THE SOLOIST, HANNA, and ANNA KARENIA.


His most recent film to be released is PAN, an origin story of the classic Peter Pan. It is set to be released in October 2015, starring Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, and Garrett Hedlund. Be sure to check out PAN when comes to theaters!
