The best season of the year is finally here!
May is the month that anticipates the summer, the one that allows us to say goodbye to our winter jackets and put them at the bottom of our wardrobe, wishing them a good rest – the daylight gets longer and so do the happy hours, the birds sing on the trees…
What is there to do in Paris to enjoy this magnificent period as much as possible?
Everyone loves May because it starts well, with a bank holiday.
In fact, on the first day of the month we celebrate the Labour Day with a day off, to spend on the couch. relaxing.
But please, do not lock yourself in your room, get out and enjoy the nice weather!
Here is a small list of activities recommended for this day:
Several major museums will be closed for this day but fortunately lots of vernissages will be present in town. We suggest you visit the one called “Water Sometimes Carries Time” at the Floréal Belleville, an exhibition that stresses on the importance of water through sculptures and visual content. Not to be missed!
We can’t get enough of holidays: a week after May 1st, we can enjoy another sleepy morning … but not too much! The Foire de Paris awaits you at the pavilions of the Paris Expo space, in the Porte de Versailles’ area, to present all the new features to improve your daily life!
Do you like music?
Magnifique, the Jazz Festival in Saint-Germain is waiting for you from 16 to 27 May. The program is interesting and diverse, the musicians will be waiting for you on the rive gauche!

For ten years, May 18th has been considered a museum night. Thanks to an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, during this day we can enjoy free and open museums until late at night. Have you ever visited the Louvre at night ? Have you ever seen Paris from the panoramic points of view of the Centre Pompidou? No? This could be the perfect opportunity!
Then, on May 25 and 26, you can also enjoy the festival «Le printemps des rues», which, on the occasion of its 22nd anniversary, will take place between the 10th, 18th and 19th arrondissements.
Music Performances, theater and dance await you in the streets! Choose your favorite shows among the different programs.
