ÉCU at Cabriolet Film Festival

We are happy that Cabriolet Film Festival based in Lebanon has been ÉCU’s festival partner for several years now. Each year the festival puts together an amazing three consecutive nights of screenings on Gemmayzeh Stairs in the heart of Beirut City. Their 2015 festival is taking place between May 29th and 31st.

Launched in 2009 by the team of Laboratoire D’art, Cabriolet Film Festival (CFF) is the first outdoors film festival of its kind in Lebanon. The festival prides itself on creating a unique forum of exchange and dialogue between the public and the filmmaking community. Year after year, CFF has demonstrated its commitment to celebrating short film as an independent form of art in a non-competitive public event by presenting local and international films in various guises from archival, to short fiction, to documentary, to animation and video art.

The festival’s 2015 edition is dedicated to celebrating the social, political and economic achievements of women while simultaneously emphasizing areas that require further advancement, highlighting challenges that face women on daily basis, and tackling realities and opportunities.

There will be 2 films from ÉCU 2015 Official Selection added to Cabriolet Film Festival’s programme, LAST WILL: IDYLL (Germany) by Alice von Gwinner and BENEATH WATER (UK) a student film directed by Charlie Manton.

We wish good luck to all the filmmakers in the competition and if you happen to be in Beirut City over the weekend of May 29th to 31st be sure you check this festival out.
