 The Grande Parade on the Champs-Elysées

 ‘Le Brio’ presented by Lost in Frenchlation  

Looking to dip your toe into the world of contemporary French film? Look no further than the formidable Lost in Frenchlation, which is presenting Le Brio by Yvan Attal this month (with subtitles in English), on Friday, January 5 at Club de l’Étoile. There will be a reception with snacks and drinks before the screening, in order to meet and mingle with fellow French film-lovers.

Montmartre: an open-air set

Montmartre is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting areas in Paris, and filmmakers have been keen to notice, making this rive droite darling the centerpiece of their works. Until January 14, the Musée de Montmartre is hosting an exhibition devoted to the cinema’s use of this legendary district’s streets, featuring posters, prints, costumes and scenes from the cutting room floor.

George Mélies Cine-concert presented by the CNC

January 19 2018, The CNC (National Center of Cinema and the Moving Image) will host a free cine-concert for the public, comprised of films directed by George Meliés, to honor French talent in the field of special effects. If you love classic films, make sure to reserve your places!

Irving Penn at the Grand Palais

Until January 29 2018, the Grand Palais, in partnership with MoMA in New York, is presenting a retrospective of Irving Penn, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. The exhibition traces more than 70 years of his iconic works, including over 240 portraits of people such as Pablo Picasso, Audrey Hepburn and Alfred Hitchcock. A can’t-miss expo!
